We’ve seen an uptick in people looking to sell their carryback mortgages. It’s just a fact that some people are hurting in today’s economy. As this continues, there are more and more people who are willing to take less for their Notes, because they need cash today. Those investors with cash on hand are able to buy these investments for much less than just a few years ago. Which means a higher interest rate earned on your investment. Of course care must be taken to make sure that investment is backed solidly by the property in question. And that loan to value ratios are safe, just in case the borrower defaults and you have to take back the property. Investors are actually making money by taking properties back and selling the property at a profit! As always, investors must be careful, but now seems to be a great time to invest in seller carryback mortgages.
